Web development is hot in demand and a very exciting career. Some might call it programming and engineering. You get to build cool new gadgets with the use of technology that will change the lifestyle of people around you. Additionally, the rapid growth in the computer and technology sector makes it a viable and lucrative future job. Above all the potential of earning dollars in this sector is limitless. Without any advanced degree or decades of job experience, you can get there. As of a recent survey by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average wager of a web developer is $90,209. These all are the reasons why one should look for a job in this sector.

However, you have to be dedicated to learning the coding of computer language to be an in-demand web developer. You must first master the basics, like HTML, JAVA, JAVASCRIPT, etc.

Software Developer — create programs that enable users to perform specific tasks on computer devices.

Solutions Architect — design and develop software systems and applications

Mobile Developer — They specialize in mobile technology such as building apps for Google’s Android, Apple’s iOS, and Microsoft’s Windows Phone platforms.

Front-end web developer — someone who converts data to a graphical interface, through the use of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Back-end web developer — Someone who builds and maintains the technology needed to power the components which enable the user-facing side of the website to exist

QA Engineer — Someone who is responsible for assessing the quality of specifications and technical design documents.

Eligibility

A computer science major is the only college degree that makes you eligible for the job of a web developer. Other than that now many online courses, boot camps, and in-person schools are emerging for the students in need. These schools teach students popular coding languages needed to break into the profession at a fraction of the time and cost of a four-year university. However, the exact duration, cost, and teaching style land all over the map. You can also learn coding languages for free online but keep in mind that it requires complete and total self-commitment. If you’re not working, spend the majority of your day immersed in these resources. If you’re employed, commit your nights and weekends to them. Stay motivated and you could soon find yourself in a high paying job that required no upfront cost to prepare for.
